Privacy Policy

TaoTrails does not require accounts or payments to read its cultural and travel guides. Hosting and security providers may process IP addresses, browser or device information, requested pages, timestamps, and referral data to operate and protect the site.

Analytics choices

TaoTrails uses Google Analytics 4 with Measurement ID G-VFXK4415Z7 for aggregate page visit and content-use analysis. Analytics is off by default and the Google Analytics tag loads only after a visitor accepts analytics.

Accepting analytics grants only analytics storage. advertising consent remains separate and stays denied by this TaoTrails analytics control. Visitors can reject analytics, withdraw consent, or reopen settings from the Footer Privacy Choices control.

The current implementation may send low-cardinality events for page views, filter_use on sacred mountain filters, and filter_use on tea timer option use. Event parameters use stable values such as content type, content slug, filter type, region slug, and selected option. TaoTrails does not send precise location, GPS coordinates, route input, search text, free text, names, email addresses, or other personal identifiers to Google Analytics.

Advertising cookies

TaoTrails may use third-party advertising services, including Google AdSense in the future, but the current source code does not load an AdSense script or a Google-certified advertising CMP. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads if advertising is added later.

You can control or opt out of personalized Google advertising through Google Ads Settings. Additional industry opt-out choices are available at aboutads.info.
